about
In honour of the season when the veil is thin, "Blue Shadows" was inspired by paranormal events that occurred from 2014-2019. Some bad motherfuckers found their way into my domain, and I thought I could hang, but oh, how wrong I was. All is well nowadays, and I think I ditched those demons. Can't blame 'em for trying to get me to tangle with them, though, they have fun. But it just ain't my kind of fun.
Cheers and happy spirit season- careful who you allow to chill with you. ;)
With special big thanks to Rex Shelverton of BellaVista on guitar :)
And with thanks to the Indian buried by my house, for killing my car battery so I wouldn't record at his grave site... (The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.)
Thanks to the blue demons known as Raven and Iris for inspiring this song, ya'll are grody. And thanks to my weird astral spirit teacher, for showing me how to resist their bad vibes. Enjoy!
Written, composed, recorded off grid in the desert in 2021.
lyrics
I happened upon some people I never met
They ain't beyond the grave just yet
The whole crew dancing in my room
They try to pull me from the pillow
I take the hand of a friendly demon
He says "how you doin', I hope you're feelin' good"
I said "I'm fine, but, why'd you choose me?
I ain't got these moves."
And that's why I'm (blue)
Blue shadows dance
The midnight romance
They might never give heaven a chance
They just dance, they just dance.
And that's why I'm (blue)
"I will admit I am the fortunate few,
Who gets visits from the likes of you"
He said "I'm dead inside, how 'bout you?!"
I said "You wanna hear the truth?"
He said "I got a feelin' that will last forever
Even after death and all the nasty weather"
I said "Suit yourself, I gave suicide a glance
And I'd rather not tangle with you,
Cause you look so (blue)"
Blue shadows dance
The midnight romance
They might never give heaven a chance
They just dance, they just dance.
And that's why I'm (blue)
Blue shadows, won't you give me a chance
To join you in death's romance
The afterlife don't want me just yet
so I'll just let blue shadows dance,
Just let em dance.
They ain't beyond the grave just yet.
